Amazonian frog medicine
Kambo
Kambo is a traditional Amazonian cleansing practice used for physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual purification. The secretion is applied through small points opened on the surface of the skin, where it works quickly to support detoxification, release, clarity, grounding, and renewal.
What to expect
Most people feel heat rising, facial flushing or swelling, a racing heart, and a strong wave of purging that moves through in roughly fifteen to forty minutes. The intensity passes quickly and is followed by lightness, clarity, and often deep rest. Small round marks remain at the application points and fade over the following weeks.
How to prepare
- Eat lightly the day before and fast for 6–8 hours before your session; no food the morning of.
- Drink water steadily the day before, but do not over-hydrate right before arriving.
- No alcohol or recreational substances for at least 24 hours before.
- Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel, water, and something warm.
- Disclose all medications and health history during screening — this is required.
Aftercare & integration
- Rest. Plan for a quiet, gentle day afterward.
- Replenish with broth, electrolytes, fruit, and simple, warm foods.
- Keep the application points clean and dry; avoid pools, ocean, and heavy sun.
- Let the following days stay gentle — the clearing continues after the session ends.
Screening & contraindications — Kambo is not appropriate for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who have serious cardiac conditions, low blood pressure, a history of stroke or aneurysm, organ conditions, or certain medications. Every participant is screened for contraindications before we begin.
Sacred entheogenic medicine
Bufo (Otac) 5-MeO-DMT

What to expect
The experience comes on within seconds and moves through in roughly fifteen to thirty minutes, though the container is held for two to three hours. People often describe a complete release of the sense of self, followed by stillness, awe, and a quiet, spacious return. Sound, tears, movement, or complete silence are all welcome.
How to prepare
- Fast for at least 4–6 hours before ceremony; a light, clean diet for several days before is ideal.
- No alcohol or recreational substances for 48 hours before.
- Discontinue serotonergic medications only under the guidance of your prescribing physician — never on your own. Disclose all medications during screening.
- Come with a clear intention and an open, unhurried schedule.
- Keep the rest of your day open and unhurried.
Aftercare & integration
- Keep the rest of the day free, quiet, and unscheduled.
- Eat simply, sleep well, and spend time outdoors or near water.
- Write, walk, or speak your experience through rather than analyzing it immediately.
- Integration support follows the ceremony — reach out in the days after.
Screening & contraindications — Not appropriate during pregnancy, or with cardiac conditions, seizure disorders, personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder, or use of SSRIs, MAOIs, lithium, tramadol, or other serotonergic medications. Screening is required.
Traditional Mexican medicine
Traditional Sobada
Womb sobadas are a practice within traditional Mexican medicine centered on alignment and nurturing the womb space. Each session includes a plática, smoke cleanse, and womb sobada, and may incorporate fire cupping or work on other areas of tension depending on your needs.
What to expect
We begin with conversation and prayer, then move into hands-on abdominal and body work with warmth, oils, and steady pressure. Sessions are draped, boundaried, and paced to your comfort. Emotional release is common and welcome.
How to prepare
- Avoid a heavy meal in the two hours before.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- Sobadas are best received outside of your bleeding days — reach out if your cycle shifts.
- Share any pregnancy, recent surgery, IUD, or abdominal condition beforehand.
Aftercare & integration
- Drink water and rest; soreness for a day or two is normal.
- Keep the womb and low back warm — a castor oil pack or warm compress supports the work.
- Move gently; avoid intense exercise for 24 hours.

What to expect
Glass cups are warmed and placed on the skin, creating suction that lifts and releases tissue. You may feel a strong pulling sensation. Circular marks appear and fade over three to ten days — these are normal and not bruises from injury.
